Cindy Rivka Marshall has performed since 1989 throughout New England at festivals, conferences, schools, libraries, synagogues, senior residences, and for community groups. Notable appearances include: National Storytelling Network Conference, Denver, CO Children’s Museum of Maine, Portland, ME Three Apples Storytelling Festival, Harvard, MA First Light Festival, Brookline, MA Museum of Science, Boston, MA Diversity Day, Plymouth South Middle School, Plymouth, MA WHDH-TV, Boston, MA guest on "Jewish Perspective" Jewish Women International / Hadassah Conference, Boston, MA Tellabration, Brookline, MA Conference on Alternatives in Jewish Education(CAJE), OH and NY WGBH-FM live broadcast, Boston, “A Folk Heritage” WUMB-FM, Boston, “Live at Noon” WAMC-FM, Albany, NY, “Rachel’s Place” Family Jewish Book Fair, Temple Beth El, Portland, ME Outspoken Word series, Natick (MA) Center for the Arts Running Brook Summer Camp, Waltham, MA Grossman Summer Camp, Westwood, MA Jewish Family Children’s Services, Waltham, MA Storytelling for Grown-ups, Bestseller Café, Medford, MA Her CD, By the River: Women’s Voices in Jewish Stories won a 2007 Parents’ Choice Recommended Award, and her recording, Challah and Latkes: Stories for Shabbat and Hanukkah, won a Storytelling World Honor Award and a National Parenting Publications Award. She has studied acting, movement improvisation, voice, and storytelling. Currently, Cindy Rivka serves as the co-chair of the Jewish Storytelling Coalition of New England and is a member of the Board of Directors of the League for the Advancement of New England Storytelling (LANES).
